This was a combination of ZBrush and Maya, with the hard surface parts modeled with 3 key and the organic part thrown into ZBrush, sculpted and brought back. The straps around the handle were actually the worst, I tried 3 different ways of getting them done, but overall I'm happy with the overall details on the high res part.

For the game res part, I took what I learned from complete trial and error and just did a quad draw over my high res straps. They continued their reputation of being The Worst by fighting me in the UV space. I figured it out though, don't worry.

The texturing was a blast so far. I tried several crystal smart materials but ended up just making my own. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the color of the straps, it might be too saturated. I'm gonna give this another update or two so critiques are welcome as always.
